Infrastructure and Housing

Sustainable mobility

Mobility is one of the foundations of our society and economy. Baden-Württemberg has a very well developed transport infrastructure for all modes of transport, whether on land, road, rail, water or in the air. Two airports provide access to virtually anywhere in the world. An outstanding railway network connects cities and municipalities and also serves remote areas.

The long-term assurance and guarantee of sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility is an important transport policy objective in Baden-Württemberg: the promotion of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, local public transport and long distance rail transport as well as the increase in competitiveness between environmentally friendly modes of transport, such as railways and waterways.
